Typical Carbon Activation hearth unit
This 22' 3" O.D. x 8 hearth unit is typical of a  BSP Carbon Activator.

The uses of activated carbon for water, air and food purification are well known; yet, many lesser applications exist which require very special processing atmospheres. BSP activation furnaces are custom-designed for the particular carbons desired. Included among the carbonaceous materials activated in a BSP multiple hearth system are carbon fines, fluid bed coke, lignite, wood, shells, hulls, fruit pits and bituminous coal.

Flexibility and versatility are built into each BSP furnace to provide the high-temperature controlled atmosphere necessary to produce high-quality activated carbon.

And combined with a BSP rotary kiln carbonizer and cooler, a complete turnkey carbon activation system can be supplied.
