Typical 13' 6" O.D. x 6 + zero hearth - hearth
Carbon Regeneration unit in final stage of construction - Used for processing 60,000 lbs/day granulated
carbon at a cane sugar facility.
Efficient reactivation of spent carbon provides the economic incentive for
choosing activated carbon as a purifying process. With the high cost of new
granular activated carbon, efficient regeneration is necessary for cost
effectiveness. BSP designs state-of-the-art carbon regeneration units that
consistently achieve minimum carbon loss, assuring maximum cost savings.
Precise control of processing temperature, steam and fuel combustion
minimizes carbon loss and assures carbon quality. Impurities in the spent carbon
can be combusted to provide process heat.
The dominant use of the BSP Multiple Hearth Furnace in
carbon
reactivation installations during the
past 20 years attests to its process and cost effectiveness.
MUNICIPAL/INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER
BSP has been the leader in supplying carbon regeneration systems
to the municipal/industrial sectors for cleaning municipal and industrial waste
water.
Multiple Hearths varying in size from 6 feet O.D. to 25 feet, 9 inches O.D. have
been supplied for a wide range of applications including tertiary plant effluent
waste water and absorption of organics in petroleum refinery waste water
systems.
CORN PROCESSING
Regenerated carbon is used in the corn milling industry for decolorization of
corn syrup and to remove organic impurities.
BSP
has been the leader in supplying turnkey carbon regeneration systems to the
major corn milling companies. BSP has designed, installed, and put into
operation over 25 units for the corn milling industry since 1970-eight of which
were installed after 1980 with our latest state-of-the-art technology.
Developments by BSP in the area of carbon dewatering and thermal control systems
have saved clients operational capital with the benefits of increased capacity.
